Simian Projects

Simian Projects is an iOS app for creating, administering and sending Project Presentations from an iOS device.

Download Simian Projects from the App Store.

Compatibility Requirements:
• iOS 7.0 or later

Compatibility Devices:
• iPhone
• iPad
• iPod Touch

  1. Login to Simian Projects
  2. Create a New Project
  3. Create and Manage Folders
  4. Manage Users
  5. Share Files & Folders
  6. Manage Notifications / Settings
  7. Approve, Reject and Comment
  8. Manage Project Information


Login to Simian Projects

  1. Launch Simian Projects to login.
  2. Enter your Simian URL E.G.
  3. Enter your Simian Username and Password (case sensitive)
  4. Press Login


Create a New Project

  1. Launch the Simian Projects App.
  2. Press the + button in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter a Project Title.
  4. Press Create to view the Project in the Projects list.
  5. Press on the Project Title of to enter the Project.


Create and Manage Folders

Create a Folder

  1. From inside the Project click the Sandwich menu in the upper right corner.
  2. Press + Create Folder.
  3. Enter a Folder Name.
  4. Press Create.

Rename a Folder

  1. Locate the Folder.
  2. Swipe it to the right.
  3. Press the (i) icon.
  4. Press Rename.
  5. Enter a new Folder Name.
  6. Press OK.

Lock Folders

  1. Swipe the folder to the right.
  2. Press the lock to lock/unlock the folder.

Note: Locking folders prevents the folders content from being seen by users with lower permission levels.

Sort Folders

  1. Press the Sandwich menu.
  2. Select Sort.
  3. Drag and Drop folders into the desired order.
  4. Press Done.

Move Folders

  1. Press the Sandwich menu.
  2. Press Select.
  3. Select the folder(s) to be moved.
  4. Press the Move button.
  5. Select a destination folder.
  6. Press the Select button.


Manage Users

  1. From inside of a Project, click the Edit icon in the Icon tray.
  2. Press Manage Users.

Note: Active Users will appear with a check mark next to their username under ACTIVE USERS. Inactive users will Appear below the INACTIVE USERS section

To Add a New Project User

  1. Press the Add User button.
  2. Complete the required fields.
  3. Set the User Level to the appropriate access.
  4. Press Add.

To Edit a Permission Level

  1. Select a User Name from the either the ACTIVE or INACTIVE USERS.
  2. Select a new User Level.
  3. Press Save.


Share Files and Folders

  1. Locate the file or folder.
  2. Swipe the file or folder to the right.
  3. Press the > Send icon.
  4. Select a Send Option.


Manage Notifications / Settings

  1. Press the Edit Icon in the Icon Tray at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Notifications / Settings.
  3. Turn On/Off the Notifications and Settings.


Approve, Reject and Comment

  1. Locate the file.
  2. Tap the file to bring up the Detail Page.
  3. To Approve, click the Check icon.
  4. To Reject, click the X icon.
  5. To comment, click the Comment Bubble in the upper right corner.
  6. Enter a comment.
  7. Press OK.

Tip: To view all Comments, Approvals, File Information and more, locate the file, swipe right, then click the (i) icon. Select from the available information in the menu to view.
