Project Comments, Annotation and Approvals

Collaborate on media within the project interface.

Comment on Files:
Review and comment on files from the project interface.

Video

  1. From inside the project, click the file name or thumbnail in the folder tree to launch the file detail window.
  2. Click the Comments tab in the right pane. (All comments will appear in the comment thread with most recent first.)
  3. On the video player, use the frame by frame navigation arrows or drag the playhead slowly to bring up the frame to be commented on.
  4. Type a comment in the comment box below the player.
  5. Click the Save button to create a time stamped comment and a hash mark on the timeline.
  6. Reply to a comment by clicking the Reply link next to the comment you are replying to in the comment thread.

Note: Comments will appear in the right hand pane and below the video player when the hash mark is clicked. To leave a general comment not specified to a frame, enter the comment in the box on the Comments tab and click the > button to save.

Tip 1: To simultaneously leave a time stamped comment and a video annotation on the same frame, be sure to perform both actions before clicking the save button.

Tip 2: Export comments to either CSV or PDF files by clicking the Export buttons below the approval thread.

Audio

  1. From inside the project, click the file name or thumbnail in the folder tree to launch the file detail window.
  2. Click the Comments tab in the right pane. (All comments will appear in the comment thread with most recent first.)
  3. Type a comment in the comment box on the right pane.
  4. Click the > button to save.
  5. To leave a time stamp on a comment, check the Include Timestamp check box to add a time code.
  6. Reply to a comment by clicking the Reply button next to the comment in the comments thread.

 

Annotate on Video:

  1. From inside the project, click the file name or thumbnail in the folder tree to launch the file detail window.
  2. On the video player, use the frame by frame navigation arrows or drag the playhead slowly to bring up the frame to be annotated.
  3. Choose the annotation tools below the video player to mark up the video.
  4. Optionally leave a more detailed comment on the frame by typing in the comment box.
  5. When finished, click the Save button to create a hash mark below the video timeline.

Note: Clicking on hash marks or time codes in the comments pane will take you to the exact frame where annotations and comments were made.


 

Annotate on Images:

  1. From inside the project, click the file name or thumbnail in the folder tree to launch the file detail window.
  2. Choose from the annotation tools below the image.
  3. Optionally leave a more detailed comment by typing in the comment box.
  4. When finished, click the Save button to create a hash mark below the image.

Note: Clicking on hash marks below the image will bring up the comment and annotation.
 

Manage Approvals:

  1. From inside the project, click the file name or thumbnail in the folder tree to launch the file detail window.
  2. Click the Approvals tab.
  3. Approve or reject the file by selecting either the Approve or Reject button.

Note: Approval statuses will appear and be color coded depending on their status.

Tip 1: Export approvals to either CSV or PDF files by clicking the Export buttons below the approval thread.

Tip 2: View at-a-glance how many approvals a file has via the icons to the right of each file thumbnail.
